Supervisor:Director, Digital Customer Delivery -Job Summary -The Principle UI/UX Designer will lead user experience design activities, collaborating with other UX designers, stakeholders/marketing team, and development teams to develop thoughtful and creative web experiences that will surprise and delight users across all of Knights of Columbus web domains. User centered design techniques skills are key to determine appropriate user experience, function, aesthetics, and quality. This role creates compelling design solutions through user flows, wireframes, mock ups, and dynamic prototypes. The Principle UI/UX Designer should have the technical and management skills to lead the team through the UI development process concept to implementations while leveraging multiple design methodologies.Merging an understanding of user and business needs, this role is expected to drive high quality digital solutions that meet or exceed customer needs.This person plays the advocate for the user and their needs, and mentors the user experience team.
Lead UI/UX Designer works within DCS team, leads the UX design team, and works directly with founders and stakeholders to identify the organization's most critical design and experience needs. -Job Responsibilities -The following duties reflect the primary responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Incumbent(s) may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties. -Responsibility -1.Thought Leadership:Leads team design process through four major stages:Planning & Strategy, Research, Analysis, Design & Development stages as they pertain to visual design. Guides stakeholders in making decisions that achieve their needs and user goals. Establishes a design driven culture. -2.Process Development:Develops detailed processes that enable the team to follow and execute to enhance user experience on the organizations websites. -3.Training and Mentoring:Acts as a mentor to colleagues, and is the organizations UX Advocate. Supports and trains new team members. -4.Visual Design: Interprets company success criteria, user goals, and design requirements. Develop user flows, wireframes, and prototypes to validate functional designs and use cases. Develops site navigation by categorizing content; funneling traffic through content. Creates mock-ups to create visually engaging design treatments. Communicates design decisions and process. Creates design specifications and style guides. -5.Development: Hand-off Atomic specifications to development. Work with technology teams during development process for clarification, problem solving/testing and developing new products and ensuring a successful implementation of the design specifications. Works to open communication streams between the UX team and Development teams. -6.Metric & Analytics: Work closely with SEO expert to provide information on the collected analytical data, analyzing and summarizing the data and trends. Be able to understand basic analytics to develop an overall picture of the interaction between users and the product/website. Develop a clear understanding to the purpose, goals and requirements of the products you are designing and actively solve UI/UX problems. -7.Experience Design Strategy &Content: Leads team to utilize research, testing, and analysis of stakeholder mission and user data to create informed design decisions. Provide creative/content expertise from the development of initial creative concepts and follow through to the final approval, ensuring quality standards are met throughout. Define the user experience from user goals to story boards to journey maps and create fun, innovative user experiences, resonating to and from the brand. Ensure consistency with brand strategies. Develop and utilize a deep understanding of user needs by facilitating user research. -8.Web Content: Makes content suggestions that consistently attributes to the overall user experience and brand story. Oversees direction of graphical elements and makes suggestions to follow through the user experience. -Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities -The depth and breadth of knowledge within the positions field or specialty that is required to effectively perform the responsibilities of this position, e.g., insurance, KofC structure and processes. Describe the type and level of skills required to handle the positions responsibilities, e.g., mathematical/analytical, communication, typing, spreadsheet. -Must be capable of Leading the U/UX Team and implement a UX strategy -Able to Foster a User-Centered Design culture -Must be innovative, artistic and creative -Must be capable of Delegating tasks -Execute Checks for quality and consistency -Have proven work experience as a web designer with a strong portfolio -Proven leadership & mentoring skills -Must be capable of Demonstrating graphic design skills -Must be Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, InVision, Adobe XD or other visual design and wire-framing tools -Must have a high skill level and experience with other Adobe products: ie. Experience:A minimum of 10 years experience in UI/UX, web graphic design, graphic design, layout.
